Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrically Biased Multi Skilled Engineer to join a profitable manufacturer based in Mountain Ash. The company have grown fantastically over the last few years and continue to do so.
The role is based on working a three shift pattern offering a salary of £32,000.
The Role
Reporting into the Engineer Manager, the main purpose of this role is to ensure that machinery and equipment runs effectively and efficiently and to provide engineering support to all production equipment whilst working towards continuous improvement.
Duties include:
- The role requires reactive and planned preventative maintenance on a variety production equipment
- Carrying out improvements to machinery to increase efficiency
- Carrying out PPM
- Maintaining site services and getting involved in project work/improvements as required
- Trouble shooting, maintenance and setting of high speed production equipment
- Checking and Calibrating instruments to ensure accuracy
- Filling in daily log books to record faults
- Consistently striving for Continuous Improvement
- Maintaining stock control procedure on consumables & machine parts
- Communicating with internal departments over engineering activity and progress
- Adhering to health & safety processes
- Training and mentoring of apprentices
- Carrying out building maintenance as required
- Basic fault finding on FLT
- New Line/Machine Installation
The Person
- HNC in related discipline or have a relevant apprenticeship
- 18th Edition regs
- Logical fault-finding approach
- Good understanding of PLC systems,
- Mechanical knowledge as well as knowledge of welding and fabricating.

- Previous experience working in the food environment would be an advantage
- Time Served Electrical Engineer with a good mechanical aptitude
- An awareness of health and safety legislation
- Knowledge of high speed production equipment, pneumatic controls and circuitry,
- Technical Problem Solving & Fault finding
- Experience of maintenance & repair of high speed production equipment
- Ability to work unsupervised
